Physical Skill and Fitness
- Black Belt Crane Posture
- Black Belt Crane’s Beak
- Maintain Crane Stance on each leg for 30 seconds in class, 40 seconds at home
- Front kick to heavy bag 20 times without putting foot down (both legs)
- Running long jump of 4 feet and hold landing on feet for 5 seconds
- Run 10 minutes without stopping
- Hold head stand for 5 seconds
- One leg hop for length of training hall and back (both legs)
Canada and Community Appreciation
- Name the 10 provinces and 3 territories
- Draw and colour a Canadian Flag and give a short history of it
- Explain why you should respect your country’s flag
- Explain the rights and duties of a citizen of Canada
- Tell about two things you have done that will help law enforcement agencies
Health and Safety
- Write down the phone numbers you need to have and put them by your telephone. (Police, Fire, Doctor, Parents at work, Family friend.
- With your parent, check your home for things that may help keep you safe
- With a parent, check for danger from fire
- Know the rules for bicycle safety
- Practice good rules of street and road safety
- Talk with your family about what you will do in an emergency
Family and Nature
- Research and chart your family tree
- Make a chart showing the jobs you and other family members have at home. Talk with your family about other jobs you may take on for the next 2 months

- Begin a rock collection and explain why you chose your specimens
- Draw a picture of your family together (don’t forget the pets)

Creativity and Communication

- Learn to draw one Chinese character and explain what it means
- Go to a public library with your parents. Find out how to get your own library card
- Name four kinds of books that interest you (history, science fiction, etc.)
- Choose a book on a subject that interests you. With your parents, discuss what you read and what you think about it
- Show that you know how to take care of books. Open a new book the right way and make a paper or plastic cover for it or another book
